Lionhead Golf Club & Conference Centre

Lionhead is operated by Kaneff Golf and has six event rooms for groups of 10 to 444.

About the venue

An outdoor gazebo is available for wedding ceremonies. The venue has six bars, including a foyer bar for each room and in-room bars in Muirfield and Edinburgh. Iggy’s Patio is attached to the Muirfield and Edinburgh rooms. A host suite is available for events.

On EventPlans.ca it is listed as a golf club and conference centre in Brampton, at 8525 Mississauga Road, Brampton, ON L6Y 0C1.

Event spaces

The venue lists these spaces. Capacities are the venue’s own figures and change with the layout you choose.

• Muirfield: up to 300 guests
• Edinburgh: up to 144 guests
• Muirfield and Edinburgh combined: up to 444 guests
• Aberdeen Terrace: up to 160 guests

Capacity

The venue does not publish a single maximum for every room, so ask for the capacity of the specific space in the layout you want: seated dinner, standing reception, theatre or classroom.

A useful rule: a seated dinner at rounds of ten needs about 1 to 1.2 square metres per guest, a standing reception about 0.7, and theatre seating about 0.6, before you add a stage or dance floor. The venue capacity calculator does the arithmetic for your room.

Events it hosts

According to its own event pages, the venue hosts weddings, corporate events, conferences and meetings and private social events.

For timelines, budgets and checklists, start with the wedding planning hub, corporate holiday party hub, conference planning hub.

Questions to ask on your site visit

Bring these to your walk-through. Get the answers in writing before you sign.

• Can the ceremony or reception overlap with golfers on the course, and what can guests see from the terrace?
• Is a membership or member sponsor needed to book?
• What is the rain plan for an outdoor ceremony?
• Are photos allowed on the course, and at what times?
• What time does the clubhouse close for private events?
• Is there a minimum guest count on weekends?

Planning entertainment here

Clubhouse dining rooms often have lower ceilings, so plan for floor-level acts: magicians, musicians and caricaturists. A patio can take roaming acts during cocktails.

Send every performer’s technical needs to the venue before you book: floor space, ceiling height, power, sound and changing room.

Getting there

Check the venue website for directions, parking rates and accessible entrances, and send the details to guests with the invitation.
