Submit a listing
Basic listings are free. Every submission is reviewed before it goes live.
The EventPlans.ca Directory lists venues, performers, caterers, rental companies and other event services across Toronto and the GTA. A basic listing is free. Here is what goes into one, who qualifies, and how review works.
What a listing includes
- Your business name, category, the areas you serve and how to reach you.
- A plain description of what you offer and the kinds of events you do best.
- Practical details. For venues: capacities by layout, room size, ceiling height, accessibility, curfew and whether the space is licensed for alcohol. For performers and services: set lengths, space and power needs, and travel area.
- A price range or starting price, before HST, so readers can tell quickly whether you fit their budget.
- Photos you own or have permission to use.
Who qualifies
Listings are open to businesses and independent professionals who provide event venues, entertainment or services in the GTA and can be reached by the public. You should be operating now, not planning to launch. We may decline listings that are incomplete, that duplicate an existing one, or that we cannot verify.
Review
A person reviews every submission. We aim to approve or reply with questions within two business days. We may edit wording for clarity and consistency, and we will contact you if anything needs confirming. Listings must follow the terms of use and the vendor listing terms.
Ownership disclosure
If you or your company has any ownership, family or financial tie to EventPlans.ca, say so on the form. The rule applies to the founder too: businesses he owns or operates carry a visible disclosure on their listings and receive no ranking preference. Undisclosed ties are grounds for removing a listing.
Insurance
Many venues and corporate clients ask vendors for a certificate of insurance (COI) before an event, often naming the venue or client as an additional insured. We encourage every vendor to carry commercial general liability insurance suited to their work, especially performers using rigging, fire or special effects. Uploading a current certificate is optional, but it lets readers see at a glance that you are covered. Keep it up to date; an expired certificate is removed from the listing.
Keeping your listing useful
Readers compare listings side by side, so specifics win. Write the way you would answer a planner on the phone: what you do, for how many people, in what kind of space, and roughly what it costs. If you need a licence or certification to do your work, such as Smart Serve for bar staff, mention it. Review your listing at least once a year and whenever your prices or services change. A listing that stays accurate earns more trust than one that sounds impressive.

What makes a strong listing
- Real capacities and technical details (ceiling height, power, curfew) rather than adjectives.
- A price range or starting price.
- Photos of real events, with permission.
- Insurance on file: upload a certificate and we add the “COI verified” badge.
