Help us route your message
A clear subject line helps us send your note to the right place. A few examples of what to include:
- Corrections: the page link, what is wrong, and a source for the correct information if you have one.
- Listings: the business name as it appears in the Directory and what you would like changed. New listings go through submit a listing.
- Privacy requests: what you would like to see, correct or delete, and the email address you used with us. See our privacy policy.
- Accessibility barriers: the page and what got in your way.
Looking for vendors?
If you want prices for your event, the quote request is faster than writing to us, because it goes straight to matching vendors.
Before you write
Many questions are already answered elsewhere on the site. Terms and definitions are in the Encyclopedia, step-by-step planning help is in Plan, and course questions are often covered in the Academy lessons themselves. Pitches for articles are best sent through write for us, where the form asks for the details we need.
We cannot give legal, tax or insurance advice on individual situations, but we are happy to point you to the right authority.
Corrections, partnerships, press and advertising. We reply within two business days.
What happens after you write
Messages are routed by subject. Corrections are checked against the source you give and, where possible, against the relevant public authority, such as the AGCO for liquor permits or the City of Toronto for park and street event rules. When a correction is confirmed, the page is updated. If we cannot verify a claim, we will tell you what we would need to make the change.
Listing requests are handled against the vendor listing terms. If you own or manage a business shown in the Directory, the quickest route is to claim the listing from its profile page, which lets you correct details directly once ownership is confirmed. Partnership, advertising and sponsorship enquiries are answered separately from editorial matters, and paid relationships never change what our guides recommend.
Writing a useful message
- Include the full link to the page you are writing about.
- Quote the sentence or figure in question rather than describing it.
- Give a source we can check, ideally an official page or document.
- Say how you would like us to reply and whether we may follow up by email.
What we cannot help with
EventPlans.ca is an independent reference, not a booking agency or a planning firm, so we cannot plan your event, hold dates with venues, or resolve disputes between you and a vendor. For prices and availability, the quote request sends your brief to matching vendors. For questions that depend on your own circumstances, such as whether a particular contract clause protects you or what insurance you need, a lawyer, accountant or licensed insurance broker is the right person to ask. We can usually point you to the relevant authority or encyclopedia entry as a starting point.
Your information
We use the details you send only to answer your message. We do not add you to the newsletter unless you sign up separately, and we do not share your message with vendors without your permission. You can ask us to delete your correspondence at any time, as set out in the privacy policy.
