Vendor listing terms
These terms apply to every business listed in the EventPlans.ca Directory, whether the listing is free or featured. They exist so readers can trust what they see and so every vendor is treated the same way.
Accuracy
Readers rely on your listing to decide whether to contact you. Keep your capacities, services, service area, price range and contact details current. If something changes, such as a renovation, a new set length or a price increase, update your listing or tell us through the contact page. Prices should be shown before HST unless you say otherwise.
Equal treatment
Ordinary listings are ordered by the same rules for everyone. Paying for featured placement gives you a labelled spot in the featured area, not a higher position among ordinary listings, and it has no effect on editorial content or reviews.
Ownership disclosure
Any listing with an ownership, family or financial connection to EventPlans.ca must disclose it. Businesses owned or operated by the founder carry a visible disclosure and receive no ranking preference. If you have a connection, declare it when you submit your listing. Undisclosed connections are grounds for removal.
Insurance and compliance
You are responsible for holding the licences, permits, certifications and insurance your work requires, such as Smart Serve for alcohol service or insurance for rigging and special effects. If you upload a certificate of insurance, it must be genuine and current. We may remove a badge or listing if a certificate lapses or cannot be confirmed.
Quote requests
When we pass you a quote request, use the details only to respond to that request. Do not add the person to a mailing list or share their information without their consent.
Removal
We may suspend or remove a listing that is inaccurate, misleading, unresponsive to repeated enquiries, or in breach of these terms or our terms of use. You may ask to have your listing removed at any time.
Photos and content
Only upload photos, logos and text you own or have permission to use. If a photo shows recognisable guests or performers, make sure you have their consent to use it for promotion. You keep ownership of your content and give us permission to display it on the site for as long as the listing is live. We may crop or resize images to fit the page.
Reviews and complaints
Reviews are part of what makes the Directory useful, including critical ones. You may reply to a review publicly and professionally. If you believe a review is factually wrong, tell us and explain why; we will look at the evidence on both sides. Offering incentives for positive reviews, or posting reviews of your own business or a competitor, is grounds for removal.
