Magicians, musicians, DJs, dancers, aerialists, comedians, stilt walkers, caricaturists and every other act share one marketing problem: the buyer has to imagine your show in their room before they have seen it. Most of your bookings will also come through someone else, a planner, an agent, a venue or a corporate events team, who is putting their own reputation on the line when they recommend you. This track applies the core modules to the business of live performance. You will build a show reel and promo kit that a planner can forward without editing, learn how planners and agents choose acts and how to stay on their lists, price appearances so that travel, set-up time and exclusivity are paid for, sell to corporate and trade show buyers, and turn every performance into the next booking. It is written for solo acts, duos, bands and small troupes across Ontario. By the end you will have a promo kit, a planner outreach plan, a rate card and a post-show routine.

By the end of this module you can

  • Produce a short show reel and a one-page promo kit that planners can forward as they are
  • Approach planners and agents with a clear offer and a follow-up rhythm that respects CASL
  • Build a rate card that accounts for travel, set-up, overtime and exclusivity, with all-in pricing
  • Package your act for corporate events and trade show booths with measurable goals
  • Run a post-show routine that produces referrals, reviews and rebookings
