Food and drink businesses have an advantage most event vendors would envy: people can taste what you sell. They also carry more rules than almost anyone else in the industry, from public health and licensing to Ontario's liquor advertising standards. This track applies the core modules to caterers, mobile bars, bartending services, dessert and coffee vendors and food trucks. You will learn to write menus that sell and stay profitable, run tastings that turn into signed contracts, photograph food and drink honestly and well, build a food truck calendar across festivals, office lunches and private events, and advertise alcohol and food within the AGCO's standards and Canada's advertising law. It is written for small and growing operators across the GTA and Ontario. By the end you will have a marketing menu, a tasting process, a shot list, a truck season plan and a compliance checklist for every piece of advertising you publish.

By the end of this module you can

  • Design menus and per-person prices that market your food and protect your margin
  • Run tastings with a clear fee, script and follow-up that convert to bookings
  • Plan and shoot food and drink photos that are appetizing, honest and cleared for use
  • Build a food truck calendar that balances festivals, office lunches and private bookings
  • Check every promotion against the AGCO's liquor advertising standards and Canada's rules on claims and pricing
