Venues

Event venues in Whitby

This page lists venues in Whitby. Most entertainers, caterers and rental companies in the directory travel across the GTA, so the vendor listings below all serve Whitby even when their office is elsewhere.

Planning an event in Whitby

Alcohol: a licensed venue covers the bar. Anywhere else (a hall, a park, an office) needs an AGCO Special Occasion Permit: apply at least 10 days ahead for a private event and 30 days for a public one, and everyone pouring must be Smart Serve certified. See the permit guide.
Capacity: the occupant load posted in the room is the legal maximum. Check your layout with the capacity calculator.
Outdoor events: parks, tents and amplified sound are permitted by the City of Whitby; ask early, because noise exemptions and tent permits take weeks. Tents over 60 m² need a building permit in Ontario.
Site visits: bring the 25-question venue tour checklist.
